IBPS CWE RRB 2014 - Exam Analysis (07.09.2014)

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted Online Examination, for the recruitment of Officer Scale - I in Regional Rural Banks (RRB), across the country on September 6, 2014.

There were 200 questions in the paper, which had to be answered in 2 hours and 30 minutes. There were five sections in all - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language/Hindi Language and Computer Knowledge. Other than the fourth section, where in a candidate had to attempt either the section on  English Language or the one on Hindi Language, all the other sections were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options. There was negative marking of one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question for all the sections.

Expected Cutoffs - These cannot be given at this stage since there are huge variations in cut-offs among different Gramin banks depending on their state.

The details of the individual sections are given below:

Reasoning

General Awareness
Almost equal number of questions were asked from Banking & General Awareness topics. The latter included books & authors, currencies of countries, forest & river names, etc.

Computer Knowledge
The main areas from which questions were asked are: Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Networking, Basic Hardware and Software.
